California notary publics are required by law to complete continuing education before renewing their commission. Below are the most common questions we receive about California notary education requirements, our online courses, and how to submit your Proof of Completion to the Secretary of State.

Once you have completed the course and a proof of completion has been issued, refunds are no longer available.

To ensure compliance with CCR 20800.6:

- • Access is limited to authorized personnel only (course administrators)
- • All accounts with access are password-protected
Retention Period
- • Records will be retained for a minimum of two (2) years from the date of course completion
- • After two years, records will be securely deleted from the system
Unauthorized Access Prevention
- • Data is encrypted in transit (SSL/HTTPS) and at rest
- • No Social Security Numbers are collected or stored
- • Regular system backups are encrypted and stored securely
This procedure ensures that the list of attendees is protected from unauthorized access for the full 2-year retention period as required by California state law.
How long do I have access to the course?
You have 1 year from the date of purchase to access and complete the course materials.
Can I retake a course?
Yes! You can purchase the same course again if you need to retake it. Each purchase gives you a new 1-year access period.
Is my proof of completion recognized by the State of California?
Yes, all our courses are approved by the California Secretary of State (Vendor #608495 & 308494), and your proof of completion meets all state requirements.
